Tarot Card 2: The High Priestess – Make a Wish!

What card is number 2 in Tarot?

Tarot Card 2 - The High Priestess

Card 2 of the Tarot: Intuition, Mystique, and Inner Knowledge

My fave depiction on the Inner Child Cards is that of the High Priestess. The High Priestess represents Cinderella’s fairy godmother in this deck. The Fairy Godmother reminds us that our aspirations are powerful. Keep in mind the adage, “Be careful what you wish for…”

Waite Deck

In the more traditional Rider-Waite card, the High Priestess is depicted as a woman wearing blue robes and a sun and moon headdress. Behind her is a drapery adorned with pomegranates and palm fronds. She is seated between two columns. She carries a parchment.

Consider the scroll of the High Priestess to be your journal of existence. It includes all of your memories. The Fairy Godmother in the Inner Child cards is depicted bearing a key and a talisman.

Deep Memories and Intuition

The High Priestess cares about our profound memories and our intuition. The Dalai Lama spoke with a psychiatrist on a recording I heard, based on the book “The Art of Happiness.” The psychiatrist emphasized that our problems are rooted in our memories and that psychiatrists work to unearth these memories so that we can be free of our issues. From the Dalai Lama’s perspective, which embraces reincarnation, our memories may extend further back than our current lifetime.

The High Priestess requests that you contemplate your desires. Consider a desire so private that you have never shared it with anyone else. You might believe that your desire is as impossible as Cinderella’s. Record your desire in your tarot journal.

When you have some alone time, turn off your phone and draw the High Priestess card from your tarot deck. Consider your tarot journal’s written wish.

Prop up the High Priestess card

Display the High Priestess card in plain view. You can rest in a chair with your feet level on the floor and your posture erect. Alternately, you can sit on the floor cross-legged with your posture erect. Close your eyes and settle down. Take a moment or two to thoroughly unwind. Think of a place in nature where you feel entirely at ease and calm that you have visited. This location could be a seashore, park, or your backyard.

Now, open your eyes and examine the card depicting the High Priestess. Examine all the information on the card without putting too much thought into it. Just observe the card while seated.

If your thoughts wander, concentrate on your respiration. Instead of attempting to control your respiration, simply be aware that you are inhaling and exhaling.

Look at the card again, and tell the High Priestess your wish

When you’re ready, slowly come back to full awareness. Be conscious of your surroundings and your location, and stand up.

This fleeting meditation was neither lengthy nor extremely profound. In your tarot journal, include the date and any insights from your meditation that you deem significant.

How do you feel now that your wish has come true? Your desire must remain a secret. When your intention becomes an objective, you can share it with others, but until then, keep it to yourself.
